On music

Music helps me shift from analytical mode into intuitive play mode. It manages like nothing else to let feelings come forward, and it calms down both ego and analysis.

When I manage to come into that state, I paint for the fun of the actual physicality of it. Long brush strokes, flattening a collage down with my hand, the feeling of thick, viscous paint - and the happiness sparked by seeing colour.
