On scale
You need to step back to see all the components that make up your life in the now.
It’s easy to just roll through it. Like rolling down a hill, lying in the grass - you get to the bottom without really seeing where you were going.
It’s also easy to distribute weight unequally to different parts, making you think they are representatives of the whole. Like forgetting to scale.
In my paintings I know I have come to the finish line when I start to see the whole. When I discover the variation in the size of shapes and marks. When standing close reveals the details, and standing far away gives you the impression.
